Cylindrical glass container - has external thread profile on top and lid with matching internal thread

A cylindrical glass container (10) is provided with an external thread profile (16) around its top end (12). A lid (18) with a matching internal thread (20) can be installed on the container in order to produce an air tight vacuum seal. An external rim (22), located on the outside of the container, below the screw profile (16), forms a location seat for the screw lid edge, in order to produce an improved, more reliable container seal. ADVANTAGE - Glass container with screw lid provides vibration proof vacuum seal.
