PURPOSE:To enhance a printing quality without disturbing the acceleration of a carriage by providing a converged tube member at the carriage, directing the enlarging opening of the member toward a scanning direction, and opposing the contracting opening nozzle between the positions of a recording medium opposed with the nozzle of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Ink mist 15b generated, for example, from a nozzle 10b due to the movement of a carriage 8 in a scanning direction (direction B) flows from a duct 11a of a converged tube member 11, its speed is accelerated, flowing in a direction of an arrow C is prevented by a high speed air flow 16 flowing out from the other opening of a flexible tube 11b, and not adhered to a nozzle 10a.
