In a water-collecting device for drinking troughs for small animals, in particular drinking troughs for chickens, in which at least one drinking valve to be actuated by the drinking animal is to be arranged in a tubular water line, with a holding clamp which can be fixed in the water line and a splash bowl which is held preferably detachably on the clamp via a holding head and which in the built-in state is arranged below the drinking valve, it is proposed according to the invention that the holding head and the splash bowl are connected by a single lateral holding arm of sufficient flexural and torsional rigidity fixed hereon on one side. Preferably, the holding arm is of tubular design, as a result of which a very stable constructional form is produced with simple measures. For the connection between the holding head and the holding clamp, it is especially expedient to provide a rapid-closure means such as a detachable bayonet closure or a detachably engaging snap closure.
