PURPOSE:To enhance the drive comfortability and the stability upon turn, by supporting the upper section of a damper to a vehicle body through the intermediary of a rubber bushing, and by making an upper spring seat abut against the rubber bushing upon stopping so that the timing is advanced in order to make the damping force of the damper more effectively during loading than during unloading. CONSTITUTION:Upon loading, a load is exerted to a vehicle body panel 23, and accordingly, a rubber bushing 30 is compressed so as to be harder by a reaction force of a coil spring 28, which is transmitted through an upper spring seat 25. Further, upon bumping during running, when a strut (damper) 20 is changed over from a compressed condition into a tension condition, the damping force of the strut 20 is effective earlier than the damping force of the bushing 30 since the latter is harder, and accordingly, the drive comfortability and the safety can be enhanced. Further, irrespective of loading or unloading, during change-over from the compressed condition of the strut into the tensioned condition thereof, the compressed bushing 30 holds a piston rod 22 of the strut 20 against the vehicle body panel 23, thereby it is possible to enhance the stability during the change-over. |
