In order to create an adapter for a U-shaped multipole busbar having a fuse which is held in a push-in compartment which can be pushed into a recess in the side wall of the head part of the adapter such that it can latch, according to Patent Application P 3810756.2-34, in the case of which it is possible to remove the push-in compartment only when the adapter has been removed from the busbar, it is proposed that the panel (shutter) (16) which can be inserted into a recess in the head part has an external contour which ends flush and without any projections with respect to the housing wall (11) of the head part (2), and that, in the installed position above the clamping receptacle (18) of the push-in container (9), the head part (2) has a tool access opening (20). <IMAGE>
