PURPOSE:To prepare hydrocarbons having the same boiling point range as gasoline and high quality, from synthetic gas, in high yield, by using a catalyst comprising ruthenium supported on a mixture of crystalline zeolite and manganese oxide or comprising a mixture of crystalline zeolite and ruthenium supported on manganese oxide. CONSTITUTION:A gasoline fraction having high octane value can be prepared selectively, by the catalytic reaction of synthetic gas with a catalyst composition composed of ruthenium supported on a mixture of crystalline zeolite especially having a pore diameter of 5-9Angstrom and a manganese oxide or composed of a mixture of said zeolite and ruthenium supported on a manganese oxide. The amount of the manganese oxide in the catalyst is 5-95wt%, especially 30-70wt%, based on the sum of zeolite and manganese oxide, and that of ruthenium is 0.5- 10wt%, especially 0.5-5wt% in terms of metallic ruthenium. The catalyst may further contain the oxide of a transition metal such as Co, V, Ti, etc. |
