PURPOSE:To grow a crystal in a melted state and to obtain a superconducting coil having satisfactory magnetic field characteristic by locally heating the coil made by winding an unbaked oxide superconducting conductor material by local heating means while rotating the coil, and sintering to heat treat it. CONSTITUTION:A tapelike wire material made of an unbaked oxide superconducting material is wound around a spool to form a solenoid coil 1. Linear local heating means 2 is disposed along the coil 1, locally heated at a temperature for partly melting among crystal grains by the means 2 in an oxygen atmosphere while rotating the coil 1, oriented in the crystal and sintered to be heat treated. Thus, the crystal is oriented in a coil state to manufacture a superconducting coil having satisfactory characteristics. |
