The chuck enables chucking for for big work piece and work pieces of irregular outer diameters. The chuck comprises fluid path (3) communicating with fluid pressure cylinder (2) and fluid pressure cylinder (5) for operating jaw, piston rod (8) and piston (6) housed in the cylinder (2), operating jaw portion piston (7) and piston rod (9) housed in the cylinder (5), supporting slider (14) with convex type guide projection (13) fixed to end of the rod (9), guide groove (12) of jaw fixture (10) fixed to the end of the slider (14), slider (15) for fixing jaw (4) fitted essembled in the groove (12).
