Pb alloy contg. 0.5-13 wt.% In, remainder Pb and impurities, such that Sn content is not more than 0.005 wt.%, is used for insoluble anodes for plating processes, partic. continuous Zn plating of steel strip, depositing Zn, Ni-Zn, Fe-Zn or Mn-Zn coatings from a sulphuric acid-contg. electrolyte at a current density of at least 50 A/dm2, pref. more than 80 A/dm2, with electrolyte flowing at least 0.6 m/s. Steel strip is moved at 0.33-3.33 m/s.
