PURPOSE:To attain effective utilization of a transmission line by allowing each node station to reference a status management table prior to data transmission and to send a data only when an opposite node station is normal. CONSTITUTION:When one of node stations is going to send a data to other node station, a transmission/reception section 11 of the node station 1 intending to make transmission uses at first the status management table 13 provided in its own node station to retrieve the status of a reception side node station 2 and does not send a data if it is detected that the reception side node station 2 is faulty, and starts data transmission while confirming the idle transmission line 5 only when the reception side node station 2 is normally. Since useless data transmission is not executed, the increase in the utilizing rate of the transmission line by useless data transmission is prevented.
