The photoplotter comprises a film (2) support roller (1) mobile in rotation, and a lens-holder (4) carriage (3) mobile in translation along an axis (D) parallel to the axis (X-X') of the roller (1), the lens-holder carriage being connected optically to a laser emitter (5). The laser emitter consists of a laser diode (5) whose point light source is situated at the focus of an optical device (7) creating a beam of parallel light rays. Use in particular to avoid employing a modulator and to improve the quality of the plot. <IMAGE>
