PURPOSE:To eliminate disadvantages such as the possibility of dropping-off of a packing and the smallness of the cross-sectional area of a water passage, by protruding a vertical wall on the peripheral edge of a top-shaped body, making the downside of its head oblique, fitting the packing inside the wall, and pressing the top-shaped body to level the downside of its head and incline the wall inward. CONSTITUTION:A wall 6 is integrally protruded on the peripheral edge of the packing seat 5 of a top-shaped body 1 so that the inside and outside of the wall are vertical. The downside 7 of the head of the top-shaped body 1 is made oblique at an angle of alpha to the radial direction of the body. A disk-shaped packing 8 whose outside diameter is equal to the inside diameter of the wall 6 is fitted in a recess surrounded by the wall. The top-shaped body 1 and the packing 8 are vertically pressed by an upper die 9 and a lower die 2 to plastically deform the body to level the oblique downside 7 of its head, lift the peripheral part of the body and incline the wall inward to secure the packing 8 on the peripheral surface. Because of the inward inclination of the wall 6, a sufficient cross-sectional area is assured for a water passage when a faucet is open. |
