PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer sheet capable of performing high density many- time printing, in the thermal transfer sheet wherein at least two transfer ink layers are provided, by forming a releasable intermediate layer containing a component whose heat deformation temp. is below specific temp. between the ink layers. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer sheet for many-time printing is constituted by providing at least two transfer ink layers and forming a releasable intermediate layer containing a component whose heat deformation temp. is below 100 deg.C between the ink layers. The first ink layer becomes easy to release and, even at the time of the transfer of the second ink layer, said first layer is melted by the heat of a thermal head to be easily perforated because of the low m.p. of the intermediate layer and the ink of the second ink layer is transferred to a material to be transferred to make high density uniform many-time printing possible. For example, an ink layer 21, an intermediate layer 31 and an ink layer 21 are successively laminated to a base film 1 and, when this thermal transfer sheet is used to perform printing, the first layer 21 is transferred in the first printing and, on and after the second printing, the first layer 22 is printed in the same region and the first layer 21 is printed in other region and many-time printing can be performed. |
