PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber material having excellent flame retardancy by mixing a urethane resin, an inorganic powder modifier and methylformamide at specific ratios, applying the obtained mixed liquid to a fiber, dissolving and removing dimethylformamide into water and drying the product with heat. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber material having excellent flame retardancy and heat insulation can be produced by mixing and stirring 100 pts.wt. of a urethane resin with 80 to 900 pts.wt. of an inorganic powder modifier (e.g. kaolinite or kaolin) and 10 to 400 pts.wt. of dimethylformamide, applying the obtained uniform liquid mixture to a natural or synthetic fiber material, putting the material into water to dissolve dimethylformamide in water and drying the product under heating. |
