APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STIMULATING PENILE ERECTILE TISSUE

A stimulator for use in promoting penile erection by neural stimulation, comprises a body member adapted for insertion into the rectum of a user. The body member is shaped to closely conform to the topological configuration of the rectum of a specific user from the anal area to a site adjacent to the prostate gland. The body member includes electric signal generating elements disposed in a cavity formed in the body member. A number of electrodes are disposed on the outer surface of the body member and operatively coupled to the signal generating elements. At least one of the electrodes is juxtaposed to a selected neurally sensitive spot on the prostate gland so as to apply stimulation to the sensitive spot. The shape of the anal passage is formed by making a mould of an amrophous mass of hardenable material.
