Fungicidal N-alkyl- and N-alkenyl-benzotriazole derivs. of formula (I) are prepd. e.g. by n-substitution of n-unsubstituted cpds. with an alkyl or alkenyl sulfate, sulfonate or bromide. In (I), n is 0 or 1; R1-R4 is H, F, Cl, Br, CF3, CN, C1-4 alkyl, OR or SR, provided that not more than 3 of R1-R4 are H, not more than 2 are CN, OR or SR and not more than one is CF3; R5 is C1-8 alkyl or C3-6 alkenyl; and R is C1-6 alkyl (opt. interrupted by O and substd. by (l) or opt. substd. aralkyl or aryl; provided that when n is 1, R4 is H, and R3 is H or Cl, then R1 and R2 are not both Cl.
