The invention relates to a mattress cover intended to form a protective envelope for a padding of foam or the like. The cover in the shape of a pocket 1, which comprises an opening slot 2 permitting the introduction of the mattress 3, is characterised in that one of the edges of the slot 2 is extended via a flap 4 which slides inside the pocket 1 in order to ensure the closure of the cover.
