Amide cpds. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts are prepared. In (I), Ra= H, CH3, halogeno or C2-6 alkanoyl, alkenyl or alkyl; RC= H, halogeno or C1-4 alkyl or alkoxyl; Rd and Rf= radicals on Q selected from H, halogeno or C1-4 alkyl or alkoxy; Re. L= Re.X.CO.NH- or Re.X.CS,NH attached to position 4,5 or 6 of benzenoid moiety, where Re= C2-10 alkyl opt. substd. with F, C3-10 alkenyl or alkynyl, phenyl, etc.; Q= mor p-phenylene; G1= C1-8 alkylene or C2-6 alkenylene; G2= methylene, vinylene or direct bond to Z; Z= acidic gp. of -CONHSOnRg. The cpds. are useful as leukotriene antagonists against allergic diseases.
