The present invention relates to studs 1 for the sole of a sports boot. The stud 1 is characterised essentially in that it includes a trapezoidal head 2, means 3 for fastening the head to the sole, via the large base 5 of the head, an element 6 for reinforcing the head including two parts 7, 8, a first part 7 in the form of a disc 9 and a second part 8 in the form of a spike 11 integral with the disc, the cross-section of the spike 11 being markedly smaller than that of the head, the latter including a hole 14 produced along its axis of revolution 13, with a cross-section similar to that of the spike and with a depth which is at least equal to the length of the spike, the latter being plugged into the hole 14 until the disc 9 is in contact with the small base 10, and means 15 for securing the spike to the wall 16 of this hole. Application to the strengthening of studs, particularly for football boots. <IMAGE>
