PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF PURINE DERIVATIVES

Acyclic purine derivatives of formula (I) are prepared by silylating purine and alkylating the obtd. intermediate in the presence of zinc iodide and organic solvent. In (I), X is -SH or -NH2; Y is -SH or - NH2; Z is 2-acetoxyethylacetoxymethyl or oacetylmethyl-1,3-di-o- benzyl glycerol gp. (I) have antiviral, antitumor and antibacterial activity.
