PURPOSE:To effectively and quickly orient a cavity between ribs by removing the background inclination from picture data corresponding to a part concerned to generate corrected picture data and processing picture data. CONSTITUTION:A digital chest picture is converted to a matrix of 128X128 by data sampling of an original chest picture 10. The outside boundary of ribs is determined by a boundary determining part 20, and two perpendicular sections are selected from respective lungs by a perpendicular section selecting part 30. The background inclination is corrected by a background inclination correcting part 40, and each section is adapted to a shift deformed sine wave pattern by each section adapting part 50, and orientation of parts concerned (ROIs) proper to sampling of the pulmonary tissue is performed by an ROI setting part 60. Thus, cavities between ribs are effectively and quickly oriented for the purpose of performing the quantitative analysis of the pulmonary tissue in the chest picture. |
