PURPOSE:To improve the controllability by pulling a brake cable through a swivel arm so as to apply a brake, when a foot pedal is stepped in, and further stepping the foot pedal a little from this braking position so as to release the brake. CONSTITUTION:When a foot pedal 35 is stepped in, a swivel arm 30 is deflected to a braking position, while a stopper plate 40 is deflected with a delay by the amount of a play between an interlocking pin 33 and an engaging hole 43. Then a pawl end 52 of a pawl member 51 is moved so as to engage with a sector tooth 23 from a tilt surface 23a, while a braking end 45 of the stopper plate 40 pulls an inner cable C2 of a brake cable C applying a brake. On the contrary, for releasing the brake, when the foot pedal 35 is further stepped in from the braking position, the swivel arm 30 is relatively displaced in relation to the stopper plate 40, and the pawl member 51 is urged and held in a release condition by engaging an engage-disengage member 55 with a release holding pin 39. In this condition, the brake is released by returning the pedal 35. |
