Device for positioning a releasable element 2 inside a conduit 3, in particular a vascular conduit, which positioning device comprises: - on the one hand, at least one catheter 4 of internal diameter D1; - on the other hand, at least one pusher element 7 of a diameter D2 slightly smaller than that D1 of the said catheter, in such a way as to be capable of being mounted slidably therein, the releasable element having, for its part, at least one overall cylindrical bearing surface 14 of an external diameter D3 smaller than that D2 of the pusher element 7. This device is characterised in that: - the distal end 9 of the pusher element on the one hand comprises, at least when it is observed in the position engaged in the catheter, a substantially axial bore 17 which, when it is empty, is of a diameter D4 slightly smaller than the diameter D3 of the cylindrical bearing surface 14 of the releasable element 2; - on the other hand, at least at the level of this distal bore 17, the wall 18 of the pusher element which delimits it is elastically deformable at least diametrically.
