The invention relates to a device for filtering out food waste produced when working in a sink, possibly under running water, e.g. when peeling, or when descaling fish, etc. With this device, such work can be done without blocking up the sink and without the preparer of the food having to handle unpleasant refuse during cleaning. It consists of a rigid U-frame 2 which rests on the edges of the sink 1. A filter bag 3 perforated with small holes for filtering liquid or semi-liquid matter is suspended from this frame on four holes 4 pierced in it for this purpose. The filter bag 3 is thrown away with its residues. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for filtering food residues. <IMAGE>
