The present invention concerns a self-extending structure which can reach high ratios of elongation, up to fifteen and more. It is characterised by rigid or flexible shear elements 1A, 1B assembled in levels called "Nuremberg shears", and a telescopic elongation means 7, 8, 9, of which each body is joined to a junction point 6 in the network of shear elements. Thus, the deployment of the shear elements is homothetic, and the elongation means, jack or telescopic screw, is cross-braced in all directions. The invention also proposes new homothetic means for extensible elongation, and embodiments of the device in stellate or pyramidal shape, with a fixed base, with great lightness, and with one or more extension means. Its areas of application are in building and industry. <IMAGE>
