摘要

Purificn. of N-cyano-N'-methyl-N"-(2-((50methyl-1H-imidazole4-yl-) methylthio)ethyl) quanidine (I) comprises contacting crude (I) with active carbon in H2O in presence of organic acis. As organic acid, esp. AcOH is pref.. Pref. amt. of organic acid against crude (I) (1 mol) is 1-100 mol. pref. 1-20 mol.. Pref. amt. of active carbon against crude (I) (1 wt. pt.) is 0.01-100 wt. parts, pref. 0.1-10 wt. pts.. Contacting temp. is 10-80 deg.C and time is 0.5-10 hrs.. Pref. concn. of crude (I) is H2O is 5-20 g/100 cc. (I) is known as Cimetidine. Highly purified (I) can be obtd. by simple method.
