PURPOSE:To execute built-in, deletion, etc. of a comment in a routine unit by registering correspondingly a comment identification use character-string, a routine identification name and a substitute character-string in a comment registration file, and putting in advance a comment identification use character- string and a routine identifier into a source program. CONSTITUTION:By a comment output means 1, a comment identification use character-string, a routine identification name and a substitute character-string are registered correspondingly in a comment registration file F1, and a comment identification use character-string and a routine identifier are put in advance into a source program. In such a state, a comment input means 2 generates a comment registration table T1, a source program input means 3 reads the source program in a source program input area A1 from an input source program file F2, a comment substituting means 4 substitutes it with the corresponding substitute character-string and outputs it to a source program output area A2, and a source program output means 5 writes this contents in an output source program file F3. In such a way, built-in of the comment can be executed without executing directly a correction to the source program.
