This sun visor, particularly for a motor vehicle, of the type including an opaque structure 5 in which there is made a slit 6 for receiving an additional screen 7 which can be moved by a user between a position retracted into the slit of the structure and an active position projecting with respect to the rest of the structure, is characterised in that the said slit 6 opens out at 8 onto a lateral edge and at 9 onto a lower edge of the structure of the sun visor and in that it includes means 10, 11, 12 for guiding the additional screen 7 so that it projects from the lateral edge or from the lower edge of the structure depending on the user's choice. <IMAGE>
