The invention relates to an open-table crimping rig with its upper part completely clear so as to enable the workpieces to be loaded and unloaded in a substantially vertical direction and whose small weight makes it easy to install. It is constituted by a lower support frame 1 resting on a lightweight structural base (substructure) 2 and which carries the means 4 for the locating and pressing of the workpieces 3. A ring-shaped support frame 8, guided, at 7, on the support frame 1 and actuated vertically by cylinders 13, carries slides (plungers) 17, 18 equipped with crimping blades 19, 20 which are themselves actuated by cylinders 21 bearing on the ring-shaped support frame 8. <IMAGE>
