PURPOSE:To enhance triboelectrifiability and coloring ability by mixing the water-containing cake or the aqueous dispersion of an organic pigment with a monomer, migrating and dispersing the pigment into the monomer phase from the aqueous phase by flashing treatment, and then polymerizing the monomer to form the polymer particles each containing the finely dispersed pigment. CONSTITUTION:The color developer of a polymer containing the organic pigment is prepared by mixing the water-containing cake or the aqueous dispersion of the organic pigment with the monomer, migrating and dispersing the pigment into the monomer phase, and then polymerizing the monomer to form the polymer particles each containing the finely dispersed pigment. The pigment cake or aqueous dispersion dispersed into an aqueous medium in a finely dispersed state is, in the usual case, dried and dispersed into the polymerizable monomer by kneading or the like. On the contrary, in this method, the pigment dispersion is migrated and dispersed into the monomer phase without agglomerating the fine particles of the pigment, thus permitting coloring ability and triboelectrifiability to be enhanced. |
