The invention relates to a battery charger device 1 for charging and maintenance charging of batteries, which device has a mains connection part, a transformer, a control part and a charging-current regulator. These components are arranged in a housing bottom part 2 which is closed in a leaktight manner by means of a lid 3. An on/off switch 4 is arranged on the lid 3. In addition, indicator lights 5 with assigned symbols 6 are provided. The mains connection cable 8 as well as a socket 9 for connecting a charging cable are provided on the one front face 7 (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
