PURPOSE: To display high resolution graphics generated by a reference TV image and a computer on a high resolution graphic monitor based upon various combination by providing the display device with a switching mechanism for displaying a read picture on the monitor. CONSTITUTION: A TV image signal is sent to a chip set 710 and converted into a digital TV speed signal, which is written in a TV frame buffer 720 by a control device 730. High resolution picture information such as graphic picture information is sent to a VGA display controller 750 through a PC bus 770 and a butter 760 supplies a high resolution graphics RGB signal as the 2nd input of a switch 740. The switch 740 selects which supplies the RGB signal to the high resolution monitor within prescribed time, the buffer 720 or 760. Consequently two independent rasters can be synchronized.
