PURPOSE:To enable high temp. sintering and to reduce the time necessary for sintering by granulating CaO, Al2O3 and CaF2 as powdered starting materials and forming coated layers of high m.p. CaO on the surfaces of the granules. CONSTITUTION:Part of CaO as a powdered starting material, Al2O3 and CaF2 as powdered starting materials are mixed and granulated. The primary granules are coated with the remainder of the CaO in a thickness corresponding to 5- 25% of the grain size. The coated secondary granules are sintered to form a granular sintered body, and the sintered body is pulverized. By this method the powdered CaF2 contacts scarcely with the hot inner wall during the sintering, so high temp. sintering is enabled, and the time necessary for sintering is reduced. |
