The contact device uses a contact pin (10) with a cylindrical shaft sleeve (12) containing an axially sliding piston (14) with a contact head (16) at one end. The contact pin (10) has a section (30) with a variable cross section made of a conductive material, which can be fitted into a bore (38) in a current conductive plate (40). Pref. the latter section (30) comprises a spring section with a radial spring bias formed the opposite end to the contact head (16), exhibiting a dia (t) which in the rest position is greater than the dia.
