A row of single matrices according to the essence of the invention presents the viewer with the possibility of registering with the eye alphanumeric characters even from a great distance. This single matrix can, due to the possibilities presented in the patent, influence optical fibre bundles, which are permanently illuminated from behind, by means of a microcircuit in combination with switching magnets and/or other suitable electromagnetic components and/or cover them in rapid succession in such a manner that visible signs are produced. It is conceivable that this invention could be used on motorways and/or places with a high level of activity (traffic).
