The invention proposes a wrist support comprising a bandage which encloses the carpal region, in which the hollow of the hand can be exposed despite a very considerable supporting function, so that crutches, for example, can be used without problems. The wrist support has an individually adjustable splint which is provided with a splint part-piece that can be rested against the back of the hand, is flat and shaped roughly like a half-shell in some regions. The splint part-piece includes an obtuse angle with the remaining part of the splint, and the vertex of the angle lies in the region of the outer side of the wrist.
