The arrangement has a dosing syringe (13) contg. a piston (15) and piston rod (17). Its outlet port (12) is permanently connected to the specimen cell (2). The piston has a bore (21) opening into a channel (22) connected via a valve (23) either to a reservoir or to a flushing gas supply. After the syringe has been filled with the specimen sol. and flushed with the flushing gas the piston is slid forward towards the outlet port starting from a withdrawn fill and flush position. ADVANTAGE - Supplies specimen cell from specimen sol. reservoir without introducing oxygen from atmosphere.
