PURPOSE:To display the image of the newest map data and to enhance usability by inputting new road data to a memory device by the key of a function key device so as to superpose the same on the existing map data in said memory device. CONSTITUTION:The data relating to a newly opened road is inputted to a map data memory device 7 using the required key in a function key apparatus 9 so as to be superposed on the existing map data in said memory device 7. Next, the input start key 91 of the device 9 is turned ON and the present position of a moving body is detected and displayed. Subsequently, when the moving body is moved over a predetermined distance, the moving route and position after movement of the moving body are detected and position data is recorded. When the input completion key 92 of the device 9 is turned ON, the moving route and present position of the moving body are displayed on a novel map containing new road data in a superposed state. By this method, the position data is displayed on the newest map and usability can be enhanced. |
