PURPOSE: To make noncontact measurement of temperature and emissivity possible by measuring total energy from a radiating body having unknown temperature and emissivity with a specific narrow wave length range and performing a process forming a specific correlation. CONSTITUTION: Total radiation energy▵El2 and▵E34 of a radiation body with volume V having unknown temperature T and emissivityβin two adjacent specific wave length rangesλ1<=λ<=λ2 andλ3<=λ<=λ4 are measured. Then, by passing the process forming differentials R12 and R34, processes to express loge (R12) and loge (R34) are passed when coefficients of variables are known as a linear combination of logeβand 1/T. In the next, a process determining the quantity T andβfrom the linear combination of logeβand 1/T is performed. By using the method passing these process, noncontact measurement of temperature and emissivity can be exactly done.
