Process for the labelling of containers

Use is made for the all-round label of a solvent-insoluble plastic foil, on to which a solvent-soluble adhesive is applied at least in an overlap region and is subsequently dried. In the labelling machine, the adhesive is dissolved, at least in the overlap region, by means of a solvent and is thereby activated. The overlap region is loaded with pressure and, after the solvent has escaped, is adhesively bonded together firmly. Subsequently, if required, the all-round label can be shrunk on to the container.
