The invention relates to a method for making a coffee drink using a coffee machine which holds up to 3 litres by pressureless delivery of infusion water heated by means of a flow heater to a temperature of 85 to 95@C and to a coffee powder situated in a coffee filter, the quantitative ratio of coffee to water lying within a range from 1:20 to 1:35, in which method the infusion water is delivered in steps in such a way that, in the first step, 50 to 5% of the total quantity of infusion water is added in a period of time TA of 90 to 150 seconds, and after at least one period of interruption of TU of 45 to 240 seconds the remaining quantity of infusion water is added.
