Fixing device for fixing a rail 4 to a sleeper 1, in which device the rail 4 is pressed against the sleeper 1 by means of a sprung element 6. In order to compensate for variations in the height of the sleeper 1 due to frost or other causes, and for adjustment of the rail 4 to the correct height, the fixing device comprises a pressure component 10 pressing against a fixing element 2 fixed to the sleeper 1 and simultaneously against the rail 4, which are made to press with the necessary force against one another by means of the sprung element 6 fitted in the fixing element 2. The height of the pressure component 10 in relation to the sleeper 1 can be adjusted in order to correspond to the height of the rail 4. <IMAGE>
