<p>A fastening device (1) is provided to facilitate the securing of an air duct member (2) to the outer edge of a window frame (3), especially a duct member having a downstand lip (11) carrying a seal (12). The fastening device (1) comprises an annular wall (13) fitted between inner and outer walls (9, 10) of the duct member so as to define a partition means between the air vent (8) in the duct member and the interior of the annular wall. Elongate slots (9A, 10A) are provided in the duct walls at the annular wall (3) whereby a fastening screw (4) can pass via the annular wall to the frame (3) to secure the duct member to the frame, the annular wall including a shoulder (16) for support of the screw head. The fastening device (1) enables the fastening screw (4) to be suitably located in the frame (3) so that subsequently the duct member can be moved inwardly to compress the seal (12) with final tightening of the screw (4) to secure the duct member.</p> |
