The invention relates to novel pyridine derivatives, processes for their preparation and their use for the control of undesired plant growth. The pyridine derivatives have the formula <IMAGE> in which R<1> 1 is alkylideneaminoxy which is unsubstituted or mono- or disubstituted by alkoxy, alkylthio or phenyl, cycloalkylideneaminoxy which is unsubstituted or mono- or disubstituted by alkyl, succinyliminoxy, or azolyl which is unsubstituted or mono- or disubstituted by alkyl or halogen, R<2> and R<3> are alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, haloalkoxy or alkylthio, R<4> is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl or alkoxy and Z is nitrogen or the methine group.
