PURPOSE:To form the thinner polarizing plate and to prevent the decrease in the visual field by mounting of a phase difference plate by adhering the phase difference plate to one surface of a polarizing film and a transparent protective film to the other surface respectively via adhesive agents. CONSTITUTION:The elliptical polarizing plate 6 is formed by adhering the phase difference plate 2 consisting of a double refractive film to one surface of the polarizing film 13 and the protective film 11 to the other surface via the tacky adhesive layers 12, 14. Respectively one layer each of the transparent protective film and the tacky adhesive layer is, therefore, omitted from the conventional polarizing plate while the protection of the polarizing film 13 is attained. The thin elliptical polarizing plate is thus obtd. The decrease in the visual field is, therefore, effectively prevented by mounting the phase difference plate and this polarizing plate is favorably used for negating the coloration of a display formed by using a double refractive liquid crystal cell, such as STN liquid crystal cell. |
