PURPOSE:To eliminate cracks produced in soldered portions of electric parts by providing on the bottom of a case the circuit board mounting surface for a light activating device constituting a lighting appliance installed on the ceiling and installing the electric parts for light activating circuitry such as an inverter on the circuit board with the weight of the electric parts supported by the circuit board. CONSTITUTION:A lighting appliance 1 directly mounted on the ceiling 2 is provided with lamp sockets 5 via mounting frames 4 at both ends of its main body 3. Then, a reflecting body 6 is mounted to cover the underside of the main body 3 with the sockets 5 jutting out downwards, and a lamp 7 is connected between the opposed sockets 5. An inverter-type light activating device 8 which provides light activating control over the lamp 7 is also installed on the underside of the top surface of the main body 3 covered with the reflecting body 6. The device 8 takes the form of a metal (Al) case 20 consisting of a flat bottom plate 19, vertical plates 20b rising from the periphery of a horizontal plate 20a which is opposite the bottom plate and mounting plates 20c at both ends of the case 20, with the horizontal plate 20a being used as a circuit board 21. Additionally, the board 21 is provided with a metal base circuit board 32 on the inner surface of which electric parts 16 are installed. |
