PURPOSE:To enhance critical current density in both one cored wire and multi- cored wire and also reduce loss in alternating current in the title taper wire used in a cooling agent of liquid nitrogen by rolling a wire coated with oxide superconducting metal in a direction right to axial line. CONSTITUTION:For example, a silver pipe of 6.0mm outer dia. is filled with plastic fine powder of Ti2Ba2Ca2Cu2O2 having a critical temperature of 120K is reduced in the diameter thereof to form taped wire 3 of 0.1mm thickness and 30mm width. Successively, the wire 3 is subjected to a sintering process at 845 deg.C for 2hrs in an oxygen atmosphere, to thereby form one cored silver coated oxide superconducting taped wire. Thus, the wire is sophiscated and enhanced in the critical current density. In a multi-structure, the narrowed twist pitch reduces loss in alternating current.
