<p>In a network interface unit for a medical image data communication storage system, when a packet is received by ACR-NEMA interface, a packet type data of the received packet is compared with a preset packet type data. If the packet types coincide with each other, the received packet is stored in an image memory (43) through an image data bus (45), and is then transferred to a transmitting line (59).
