Special measures have to be taken in tungsten-halogen lamps or high-pressure discharge lamps in compact form (HQl lamps) in order to protect the temperature-sensitive electric or electronic components required for operating the radiator against impermissible heating. To date, it is only the use of active coolants that has made it possible to meet this requirement in the case of a compact radiator design in which the hot reflector part is arranged with the lamp directly in front of the housing having the temperature-sensitive components. For the purpose of an exclusive solution to this problem using passive coolants, it is proposed to provide laterally on the reflector part 2 in a lamp (4) that is arranged transversely in the reflector (2.2) a cooler (3) whose element (3.1) with cooling surfaces projects beyond the housing (5) arranged thereabove and with which the lamp socket (4.1) is in good heat-conducting contact. <IMAGE> |
