To electrically contact a biomedical "tab" type of electrode (50) a female connector (10) located at one end of a lead wire (20) is connected to a male connector (12) attached to the lead wire by means of a flexible tether (38), a stud (34) of the male connector (12) passing through an opening (66) in a tab (62) of the electrode and snap fitting with the female connector (10). The tether (38) is mounted to slide along the lead wire (20). During use, the male snap connector (12) can be moved into proximity of the female connector (10) and aligned with it on opposite sides of the tab (62) of the electrode and then connected through the opening (66) in the tab to establish both a mechanical and an electrical connection with the tab of the electrode.
